Bayamo

This colonial town is the cradle of Cuban nationality. The place where, for the first time our National Anthem was sung during the First War of Independence, in 1868.

There is a lot of history in its streets, in its houses many of them rebuilt after its inhabitants decided to set fire to the entire city before the threatens to be ruled again by the Spanish.

Walk its historic center where you can visit the only Wax Museum that exists in Cuba and take a horse and cart drive around the surroundings. You can visit it on the way to Santiago de Cuba, and if you stay at least two nights, you will have the opportunity to visit the mountains where Fidel Castro with his Rebel Army, had his camp.
